LizzyspitI Worry, I WaitReleased June 1st www.indiestore.com/lizzyspit www.myspace.com/lizzyspit The stunningly original Lizzyspit from Clapham, London first broke onto the music scene in early 2008 and since then her debut single, album and subsequent single releases have received airplay and support from BBC R2’s Steve Lamacq and Janice Long to name but a few. Lizzy has travelled the country to perform live on numerous national radio stations and countless reputable venues, festivals and most recently a performance at the 2009 National Hospital Radio Awards. Currently her music has led to her being invited to perform at the famous New York venues The Bitter End and 169 Bar in April 09 and she will also be performing at this years Sellindge Festival sharing the stage with Emmy The Great. This new release ‘I Worry, I Wait’ sees Lizzy record for the first time in the studio with a full band. Thus showing that not only is she a highly talented DIY solo artist, but that with a full band behind her, her earnestness, angst and beautiful soulful vocals that have become so much of Lizzy’s trademark, still shine through unmistakably, and as some might say, give Lizzy that final finishing touch for, as one reviewer recently described, “this criminally under appreciated by the music masses artist”.
“Lizzyspit…well worth playing!” Steve Lamacq “Absolutely beautiful” Janice Long “Lizzyspit is an artist we have come to know and love in recent months…..Utterly Charming. Eggbox deserves to be a massive smash for this talented London artist” - Indie London 4/5 “Soft vocal arrangement and drawn out harmonies…that has enough charm to hold attention throughout.” Artrocker "An exquisite, soulful voice, full of charming innocence, uncontrived quirkiness...such natural melody...such an intimate and rewarding listen. REAL talent!" Von Pip Express “There’s an acoustic guitar strummed throughout, but it’s little more than token accompaniment….it is her voice that’s the song’s driver, and the articulation of her angst and frustration is palpable.” Music News 4/5 “Her combination of heartfelt, soulful vocals and quirky melodies and both unique and instantly contagious”Observer Monthly Music “Discreet acoustic guitar and simple lyrics accompanied by her delicate but meaningful voice….it’s addictive stuff” Daily Music Guide “It’s hot chocolate for the soul with extra marshmallows and sprinkles….honest, innocence and a refreshing lack of pretence.” Mad Dog Magazine " Quaintly beautiful work...with her relaxed, soulful, gritty and thoughtful acoustic style…it's cool to hear someone givin' it real like this".
